MACDONALD, Robert Harold (Rob) –
56 passed away suddenly at home on March
7th, 2010.
Rob was born in Springhill to Kathleen MacDonald (Jeffers)
and the late Gordon MacDonald.
He lived and worked in Springhill before falling ill in the
summer of 1994. For the next sixteen years, though unable to
work, he courageously battled through one health crisis after
another. As testament of his courage and perseverance, he
volunteered with the All Saints Hospital Palliative Care Unit, was on
the Executive Committee for the Kidney Foundation and helped establish
the Care for the Care Givers Program for the families of Cancer
patients. Rob loved his motorcycles but more than anything
he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was quick
witted and always had a smile to share.
He is loved and will be forever missed by his wife and best
friend Marion (Herrett) sons Rodney (Amy Corbett) and Randy (Amanda
Paul), his mother Kathleen, his sister Dianne (Wayne) Langille,
granddaughters Morgan and Erin MacDonald, his Aunt Helen Sweeney,
Uncle Peter Misken and canine companion McAllister. He is further
survived by his four nieces and three nephews and extensive family and
friends. He was predeceased by his father, Gordon MacDonald and his
in-laws, Arthur and Muriel Herrett.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of A. H. Brown
Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361) where
