It is with deep sadness we must announce the passing of Deborah Ann "Debbie" Tooke on Thursday, February 27, 2020 in her winter Texas home.

Born in Springhill, NS, she was a daughter of the late James and Joyce Legere.

Her fun began in Dorchester until the family planted roots on Morris Street in Springhill. After finishing school she started a loving family of her own in Pictou where she crafted her professional skills as a strong woman in the auto finance world at O'Farrell's followed by Bob Allen's.

Debbie didn't live an average life, she did what she wanted. Right from the start as a little girl she wouldn't let anyone tell her (or anyone she loved) that something couldn't be done. She proved them wrong every time. She had the gift of seeing all of your potential even if you didn't. She was a force and did her best

Debbie's love was deep and true as her advice. She was a fun-loving, kind and caring woman who's greatest enjoyment was spending time with family.

She had a love affair with humour (like telling waiters she only drank goat's milk so she could bring her own with her), card playing, the thrill of bargaining, the beach, hummingbirds, talking on the phone, music, dancing, ketchup, desserts, and smoking.

Debbie will be profoundly missed by her soulmate Gordon Gresswell, children Ali (Shawn Darby), Adam, and Kim (Darren) Kirby, siblings Fran(Jerry) Edwards, James (Melanie Caines) Legere and Dru (Jennifer Warden) Legere, her adored nephews and nieces Chris (Nicole) Legere, Stephanie (Jay) Frizzel, Samantha Legere Alisha Legere, and Beau Legere along with extended family and friends from every walk of life near and far. She was predeceased by her stepson Bobby Gresswell.

Arrangements have been entrusted to A H Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane St., Springhill, NS (902-597-2361)  Following her wishes there will not be a funeral service. Help us in honouring her by living big, loving deeply, and laughing often.

Sharing of memories and condolences may be sent to the family by visiting Debbie's online memorial at www.brownsfuneralhome.com or through the A H Brown Funeral Home Facebook Page.
