BOOTH - Ellen "Cherry" aged 68 years of High Crest Nursing
Home, Springhill, formerly of Amherst, passed away on Thursday,
November 8, 2007 in High Crest. Born in Springhill, she was the only
child of the Late John "Jack" and R. Maguerite (O'Brien)
Booth.
Following her graduation from Teacher's College, Truro, she taught
school outside of Halifax for two years then moved to British Columbia
in 1960 where she taught one year before returning to Nova Scotia to
teach at the School for the Deaf, Amherst. She also taught school on
the Air Force Base in Greenwood, Germany, and Goose Bay, Labrador. She
then attended Mt. Saint Vincent University graduating in 1989 with a
Bachelor of Arts Degree. She retired from teaching in 1994 after
having taught in Amherst for twenty five years. She enjoyed doing
crafts and skiing.
She is survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and
cousins.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of A. H. Brown Funeral
Home, Springhill. A Graveside Committal Service will be held 11:00 am
Friday, November 16, 2007 in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill, with The
Reverend David Lloyd-Pearce officiating.
