It is with great sadness we announce the passing of James William Wark, 77 years, of Springhill, on Friday, July 10, 2026.

Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late William H & Ruth R (MacKenzie) Wark.

He will be dearly missed by his daughters Malaine (Steve) Parenteau Wark, Jamie Wark; grandchildren Layne, Dakota (Garrett), Hunter; great grandson Malachi; siblings, Ralph (Cathy) Wark, Carolyn (Larry) Beaton, Mike (Pam) Wark, Anne-Marie (Ed) Casey, as well as many other family & friends.

Beside his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Margaret Smith.

Jim was known for his love for his family and friends.  We would love to share some details of his life that were not widely known.

Jim was a man of mystery and shenanigans! His list of attributes and accomplishments were long. Jimmy was not a man to brag, and he kept them close to his vest. (Including his protected tuna salad recipe!)  The world owes this man a debit of gratitude as he saved us all from Dr. Evil!  Jim was also the undefeated combat checkers champion, and he used all his winnings to bring his loved ones together and discover all the great ice cream shops! He was an amazing father, the best papa, and a loving brother and son! He was a dedicated family man! Jim’s; dedication, love, humor, and respect also stretched to many others who lovingly called  him "Dad".

As per Jim’s wishes, he was cremated and Malaine and Jamie will be hosting a gathering for family & friends at the house at 86 Queen Street, Springhill, NS. Please feel free to stop by this Friday, July 17th, 2026 after 1:00 pm to share memories and tell stories about how much Jim was a lover of all things fun, fishing, camping, mountains and family & friends.

If so desired, donations in James' memory may be made to a charity of your choice.

We understand not all will be able to attend the gathering and everyone is welcome to share their memories and condolences by visiting James’ online memorial at www.brownsfuneralhome.com or through the A.H. Brown Funeral Home Facebook page.
