It is with deep sadness we announce the
passing of Muriel Margaret Weatherbee, 90
years, of Springhill, on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 in High-Crest
Nursing Home.
Born in Collingwood on August 5, 1935,
she was a daughter of the late Garnet and Gladys (Hunter)
Colborne.
Muriel was a devoted member and
volunteer with St. Andrew's Wesley United Church,
Springhill. She had been Housekeeping Supervisor with All
Saints Hospital for over 35 years.
She was an avid bowler, and skilled dart
player. She was a wonderful cook, who's biscuits were famous
and in great demand. Muriel loved her family and friends and
was always willing to host them either at her home or
cottage.
Muriel's cottage was her summer home
which she greatly enjoyed over the years with her late husband, Vinnie
as well as her family. She was an avid Toronto Blue Jays fan
and looked forward to every game.
Muriel is survived by her daughter,
Sheree (Glen) Hunter and her son, Rob (Sharon) Weatherbee; her
daughter in law, Bernie Weatherbee and son-in-law, Harold Fraser; nine
grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great great
grandson; her brother, John (Joan) Colborne; her very special furry
friend, Lily, as well as many nieces and
nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased
by her husband, Percy Vincent "Vinnie" Weatherbee; her
daughter Patty Weatherbee and her sons, Danny and Bruce; her great
grandson Vincent; her son-in-law, Ian Johnston; her siblings, Lloyd,
Sherman, Wally, Keith, and Mahlon Colborne, as well as two sisters,
Florence Rushton, and Ena Chiasson.
Arrangements are under the care and
supervision of A. H. Brown Funeral Home,
5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, NS (902-597-2361). A
Graveside Committal Service will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at
11:30 am in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill.
