It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Muriel Margaret Weatherbee, 90 years, of Springhill, on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 in High-Crest Nursing Home.

Born in Collingwood on August 5, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Garnet and Gladys (Hunter) Colborne.

Muriel was a devoted member and volunteer with St. Andrew's Wesley United Church, Springhill.  She had been Housekeeping Supervisor with All Saints Hospital for over 35 years.

She was an avid bowler, and skilled dart player.  She was a wonderful cook, who's biscuits were famous and in great demand.  Muriel loved her family and friends and was always willing to host them either at her home or cottage.

Muriel's cottage was her summer home which she greatly enjoyed over the years with her late husband, Vinnie as well as her family.  She was an avid Toronto Blue Jays fan and looked forward to every game.

Muriel is survived by her daughter, Sheree (Glen) Hunter and her son, Rob (Sharon) Weatherbee; her daughter in law, Bernie Weatherbee and son-in-law, Harold Fraser; nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great great grandson; her brother, John (Joan) Colborne; her very special furry friend, Lily, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Percy Vincent "Vinnie" Weatherbee; her daughter Patty Weatherbee and her sons, Danny and Bruce; her great grandson Vincent; her son-in-law, Ian Johnston; her siblings, Lloyd, Sherman, Wally, Keith, and Mahlon Colborne, as well as two sisters, Florence Rushton, and Ena Chiasson.

Arrangements are under the care and supervision of A. H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, NS (902-597-2361).  A Graveside Committal Service will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 11:30 am in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill.
