It is with deep sadness we announce the
passing of Pauline Cooke, 58 years, of
Springhill, on Sunday, December 28, 2025 with her sisters by her side
in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Amherst, NS.
Born in Toronto, ON, she was a daughter
of the late William and Audrey (Matthews) MacDonald.
The ultimate mother, sister, aunt and
friend. Pauline was a beloved prankster, adventurer and
Salvation Army volunteer. She was a lover of hunting,
fishing, playing bingo, and making memories with family. She
left us too soon, but her jokes and laughter will live
on.
She will be dearly missed by her
children Jessica Cooke (Dave Collins), Springhill and Timothy Cooke
(Amanda Marks), Amherst; daughter in law Kate Bird, Amherst;
grandchildren Alice, Harrison, Eli, Dylan, Kaliyah, Max, Liam,
Isabella, Preston, Dameian and Dayton; brothers, Edward Matthews,
Amherst, and William (Jennifer) MacDonald, Dorchester, NB; sisters,
Jeannie (Peter) Nyitrai-Hacz and Kelly (Tim) MacDonald-Tucker; several
nieces and nephews; as well as her best friend Bev
Brown.
She was pre-deceased by her daughter
Marilyn; granddaughter Christine; and the love of her life, Wayne
Hoeg.
Pauline's arrangements are under the
care and direction of the A. H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane
Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361). A Graveside Committal
Service will be held for Pauline on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 10:00
am in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill, NS
