It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Darlene Donna Pepperdine, 89 years, of Springhill on Sunday, October 5, 2025 at her home.
Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late Harmon and Marion (Swanwick) Gallagher.
Darlene was born and raised in Springhill, Nova Scotia, where she met her soul mate George Pepperdine and married. She embarked on a new adventure as a military wife traveling the country and raising a family. Darlene devoted her life to her family; she adored her grandchildren and they were the sparkle of her eyes. She was the most compassionate person and the best mother and Nanny one could ask for. Darlene was also a pillar of the Springhill community where she worked at All Saints Hospital. She donated her time to Meals on Wheels and to St. Andrew's Wesley-United Church. Her smile and laugh would brighten any room. She loved her second home at the cottage on the beach in Parrsboro, Nova Scotia watching the hummingbirds and the tides come and go. She enjoyed playing darts, games and cards with friends and family. Her presence will be truly missed by all she touched.
She will be dearly missed by her husband George Pepperdine; children Terry (Anne) and Kimberley (Mike); grandchildren Nicholas (Alexzandria) and Sarah (Andrew).
She was predeceased by Harmon and Marion (Swanwick) Gallagher (parents) and the late Catherine Baker (Gallagher) (Sister).
Arrangements are under the care and direction of the A. H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFArlane Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361). A Funeral Service celebrating Darlene's life will be held from A H Brown Funeral Home on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at 2 pm, Rev. Beth Johnston and Rev. Ruth Gamble officiating. Burial to follow in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill.
