It is with sadness we announce the passing of Anthony Elmer Fitzgerald, 72 years of, Springhill, on Thursday, December 12, 2024 in High Crest Nursing Home.

Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late Elmer C. and Georgina M. (Carde) Fitzgerald. Anthony was a heavy equipment operator for Cumberland Paving for over 30 years.  A Reservist with the Canadian Army, he became a member of the Springhill Legion for over 47 years.   He enjoyed the woods, and in his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He will be sadly missed by his wife the former June Harrison; children Robert (Sheila Bishop), North West Territories, and Ann (Garfield) Brine, Little Forks; grandchildren, Ashley, William, Taylor, Eric, and Conner; great grandchildren Mason, Skylar, Donnie, Autumn and Tahlia; brothers, Aubrey, William,Terry (Nancy); sisters, Paulette (Bill) Beaton and Donna (Dennis) MacDonald; several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by a brother Carson.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of the A. H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361).  Cremation has taken place and a family graveside service will be held in the spring at Hillside Cemetery, Springhill. 

If so desired, donations in Anthony's memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, or the Alzheimer's Society.
