It is with deep sadness and broken hearts we announce the passing of Charles Alfred MacPhail, age 68, of Springhill. Charles passed away on Friday, May 3rd, 2024 after a brief illness.

Born in Toronto, ON, he was a son of the late Raymond and Kathleen (MacDonald) MacPhail. 

Charles's true passion in life was music and throughout his life he met lots of entertainers. He promoted shows for George Jones, Tanya Tucker, Larry Gowen, Burton Cummings and many more. He was a bus driver, a promoter and manager in the music industries, he managed Ron Hynes in later years. He also did shows with Valdy, Jimmy Flynn and many more

He was an avid gardener, he loved animals especially dogs but above all else he loved his family.

Charles will be dearly missed by his partner of 19 years Brenda Poirier; children Roxanne MacPhail-Porter (John Porter),  Aislin MacPhail (Jordan Dale) , Shea MacPhail-Nicholson (Dorian Nicholson), Cavan MacPhail(Rebecca McKnight); grandchildren Brooklyn (Nathan) Watson, Isabella Farrow, Malcolm Farrow great-grandaughter Parker "Peanut" Watson; sister Diane MacPhail-MacKenzie, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles and aunts.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the ICU department from the nurses to the doctors to the CCA's and respiratory techs at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre.

Arrangements have been entrusted to A H Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane St., Springhill, NS (902-597-2361). Following Charles wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services.

Donations in memory of Charles may be made to the Lung Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
