Omar Hilal Jacoub
Al-Wardian, 38, of Springhill Nova Scotia, passed away
suddenly after a brief illness on April 21, 2024.
Omar was born on February 17, 1986 at
the Amherst Regional Hospital to Janice and Hilal Wardian.
His older sister, Aiysha, was anxiously awaiting his
arrival. They enjoyed many trips to Cape Breton together as
a family and Aiysha and Omar would often find new and interesting ways
to torture each other during those trips.
His childhood years were spent making
memories with all of his neighbourhood friends on Morris Street,
swimming and cannon balling in the backyard pool, riding bikes, and
enjoying his favourite foods of Oreo cookies and Salt &
Vinegar chips.
Omar was an avid fan of baseball and
t-ball and not only watched from the sidelines but participated as
well. He started out playing t-ball in his younger years and
competed in his older years more competitively and it was one of his
favourite pastimes in his teenage years.(GO BLUEJAYS!)
Later in life, Omar was lucky enough to
meet a four legged companion, Koda, who turned out to really be
man’s best friend. They enjoyed rides in the car,
long walks in the neighbourhood and on the beach in the summer and
just being together. To know they are together once more is
truly a comforting thought for us all.
Omar will always be remembered by his
willingness to help anyone who needed it, his kindness to everyone, a
good laugh, his love for animals and his love for his
family.
Omar will be forever greatly missed and
is survived by his mother, Janice Wardian, his sister, Aiysha
Al-Wardian, his aunt Rhea Stevens, his cousins Jay Weeks, James and
Lara Gillis as well as various aunts, uncles and cousins on his
father’s side. Omar was pre-deceased by his father, Hilal
Wardian, his maternal and paternal grandparents and several aunts and
uncles.
Cremation has taken place and
arrangements are under the care of A.H.Brown
Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane St., Springhill, N.S. A
celebration of life will be held on Sunday April 28 from 2:00pm-5:00pm
