Clay Robert
McSavaney, at the age of 51, passed away quietly on
Monday, February 26 at Peter Lougheed Hospital, Calgary, surrounded by
family and friends.
Born in Springhill, NS, he was the
eldest son of Robert and Hannah (Scott) McSavaney.
From a young age, Clay enjoyed
adventures with his family including with his younger brother
Craig. He took many trips with his parents and brother
camping and traveling. After graduation, Clay moved to
Ontario to attend Humber College and became a Heating, Refrigeration
and Air Conditioning Technician. He moved to Calgary in
1996, starting his career in commercial refrigeration. It
was here he met his lifelong friends Andrew and Blain. The
"boys" shared passion for fishing, quading and camping led
to many adventures around Alberta and British Columbia over the past
two decades.
Clay is survived by his parents, Robert
and Hannah (Scott) McSavaney; Aunts Karen Scott, Frances (Don)
Hammond, Holly (Greg) Young and Barbara (McSavaney) Shaw; Uncle Fred
(Donna) Scott, as well as many cousins and their extended
families. He will also be dearly missed by his family and
many friends in Calgary, including Shelley, Sarah and
Marissa.
Besides his brother Craig, he was
predeceased by his grandparents Fred and Eleanor (Herrett) Scott. and
Herb and Irene (Bickle) McSavaney; uncle Lloyd Scott; Aunts Lorraine
(Glen) Roblee, Andula (Gerry) Gibson, and Edytha
Robertson.
Arrangements have been entrusted to
A H Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane St.,
Springhill, NS (902-597-2361). Cremation has taken place, and all are
invited to drop in to an Afternoon of Remembrance being held on
Tuesday, April 30, 2024 from 2 to 4 pm. Burial will take
place in the Glenville Cemetery.
