It is with broken hearts we announce the unexpected passing of Donald Thomas MacDonald, age 65, of Springhill. Donald passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2024.

Born in Truro, he was a son of the late David Munro and Muriel (Hardy) MacDonald.

Donald was a born entertainer and loved nothing more than hosting family and friends - and making sure they were well fed. Donald was a proud "grand-paw" to 5 fur-babies and always made sure they benefited from his generosity as well. He loved music and would challenge anyone to a trivia showdown (and usually win). Besides spending time with loved ones, Donald’s passion was being outside on the golf course and as soon as the snow melted there was no question where he’d be - with his golf family.

Donald will be dearly missed by his loving partner, Heather Henry; 3 children Jillian (Geoff), Alexander, and Taylor (Kris); sisters Davina (Jim DiPersio) MacDonald, Claudette (Michael) Fullerton, Edie Whitty, Sandra MacDonald, and Marlene Scothorn; brother David (Patti) MacDonald; many nieces and nephews, and extended family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to A H Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane St., Springhill, NS (902-597-2361). A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.

Donations in memory of Donald may be made to the Springhill Centennial Golf Club, Heart and Stroke Foundation, or Salvation Army.
