It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia "Pat" J. Berry, age 86, of Springhill. Patricia passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre.
Born in Springhill, NS, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Annie (Henwood) Pettigrew.
Pat loved playing darts, competing locally and abroad, and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion in Springhill. She was a devoted community member and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. She owned and operated Pat's Diner and Taxi Service in Springhill with her husband, Ray in the early 70's. Pat took on many roles and positions to help the family, but her greatest love was always her husband, children, and grandchildren.
She is survived by sons, Raymond (Annie), Calgary, Danny (Nancy), Springhill, and Ricky (Susan), Springhill; daughters, Patricia (James) Richard, Springhill, Cindy (Dean) Donkin, Fenwick, and Monique (Kevin) Zollner, Springhill; brothers, Charles Pettigrew, Amherst, and Henry Pettigrew, Amherst; sisters, Judith Sears, Springhill, Adeline Terrio, Amherst and Audrey Hill, Toronto; 17 grandchildren, Paul, Bonnie, Theresa, Tabitha, Tanya, Raymond, Jesse, Jonathan, Timmy, Sydney, Emma, Riley, Drake, Rachel, Nicholas, Alex and Corey, as well as 31 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Raymond Berry, her brother, Alfred Pettigrew and her sister, Phyllis Mawdsley,
Arrangements have been entrusted to A H Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane St., Springhill, NS (902-597-2361). Honouring Pat's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a celebration of life for Pat at her home, 27 Spruce St., Springhill, NS on Saturday, June 24, 2023 from 2-4pm.
