June Juanita Jewkes aged 100 years of Springhill, passed away on May 29, 2023 at High Crest Nursing Home. Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the Late Fenwick and Ann (Trott) McCormick.

June lived in Toronto for many years before returning home to Springhill. She was an avid reader and enjoyed listening to music.She will be missed by her granddaughter, Tammy Hunter; two great grandsons, Kenneth Hunter and Russell Hunter, as well as her nephews, Jack Budd, Toronto, Dan (Susan) Wilson, Toronto, Douglas Fraser, Belleville, ON, and Ron Maine, Springhill.

June was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Douglas J. Jewkes; son, Randall Jewkes, and her siblings Daniel, William, Everett, Edna, Guruda, Marjorie, Nevulyn, Violet and Jackie as well as a brother, Gervin and a sister Mary in infancy.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of A. H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361). Honouring June's wishes, a graveside committal service will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023 at 1pm in the Hillside Cemetery, Springhill.

Donations in memory of June may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
