It is with sadness we announce the passing of
Vera Lilian Rita Miles, 95 years of
Springhill. Vera passed on Tuesday, November 29 at High Crest Nursing
Home.
Born in Dartford, Kent, England, she was a daughter of the
late Charles and Lilian (Titcombe) Barden.
Vera grew up in England and as a young teenager, she
experienced The Blitz of London and survived World War II. She met the
love of her life David and married in 1949. Having grown up through
the war, Vera's life long motto became "waste not, want
not".
She lived in various places across England where all 3 of her
daughters were born. In 1976 Vera, David and youngest daughter Pippa
immigrated to Springhill, Canada where they made it their home. They
were welcomed into Springhill with open arms.
Vera and David both devoted their lives to God and to helping
others. Vera was a loving care giver to her husband right up until his
passing. She was always very grateful for everything she had. She
loved spending time at the cottage but above all else she loved her
family.
Vera will be dearly missed by her children, Jillian (Marcus)
Colchester of Chadlington, England; Alison (Liam) McFaul of Rathlin
Island, Northern Ireland and Pippa (Scott) McNutt, Springhill;
grandchildren Thomas (Erin) McNutt, Jessica (Joey) Feith, Kito (Bella)
Colchester and Merry Colchester (Sophie); great-grandchildren Mette,
Everett, Caleb, Hannah, Ollie and Owen; as well as several nieces and
nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband A. David Miles in 2002; an
infant son, Peter and brother Eric.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of
A. H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane

place Saturday, December 3rd, 2022 at 2pm.
