It is with a heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of our son, father, brother and uncle; Jason Andrew MacAloney, 46 years old.

Jason was born in Springhill, N.S. and graduated from Springhill High. He was an employee at Oxford Frozen Foods for many years, where he had many friends.

Jason was a loving and caring person who was loved by all who knew him, especially his old band mates; Sean, Dave, Ken, Rob and Mark. They spent many hours jamming in the basement.

Jason is survived by his parents, Cathy and Merton MacAloney of Amherst, N.S.; his sister, Barbie Miller (Dan) of Moncton, N.B.;  his brother, Paul MacAloney of Toronto, Ont. The joy of his life, his little girl Neela Dawn MacAloney and her mommy Tammy. Neela always put a smile on her Daddy’s face. His nieces Krista Hopper (Natasha) of Riverview N.B.;  Lindsay Rector (Sam Walker) of Amherst N.S.; Savannah Miller of Moncton N.B.; Stephanie Steinbring (Eric) of Calgary A.B.; and his great-niece Ella Zollner of Amherst N.S. As well as many uncles, aunts, cousins, and his beloved dog Buddy. He was also survived by his partner Jamie.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of the A H Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361) where an Afternoon of Remembrance will take place on Saturday, November 5th, 2022 from 2 pm until 4 pm. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
