Marilyn Christine Cooke, age 38, of Amherst, passed away suddenly on May 20, 2022 at home.

Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of Michael (Liz) Cooke, of Oxford and Pauline MacDonald Cooke, of Springhill.

Marilyn was a quiet, gentle woman who loved making big holiday dinners until her illness took over.  She enjoyed going for drives, especially to shopping with her son Dameian, and loved to go camping.  Her father was the light of her life, as she was the light of his.

In addition to her parents, she will be dearly missed by her son Dameian Matthews, who was the love of her life.  She is also survived by one sister Jessica; brother Timothy; and two grandmothers, Phyllis Stewart, Oxford, and Audrey MacDonald, Springhill; Dameian's father, and Marilyn's special loving friend Dwayne Gutterson of Five Islands.  Liz Cooke of Oxford was family to Marilyn as well as a very special friend. As well as very special cousin to her and best friend Marley Matthews; also Marlene Cooke of Georgia, USA; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was predeceased by her daughter in infancy.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the A H Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane St., Springhill, NS, (902-597-2361) where visiting hours will be held on Monday, May 30, 2022 from noon until 2 pm, followed immediately at 2 pm by her funeral service.

Those wishing to make a donation may do so to the Lupus Foundation or the Kidney Foundation.

Sharing of memories and condolences may be sent to the family by visiting the online memorial at www.brownsfuneralhome.com or through the A H Brown Funeral Home Facebook Page.
