It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of James "Jamie" Christopher Matthew MacLean (Sachs), age 46, of Vancouver, BC formerly of Springhill, NS. Jamie passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022 in Vancouver, BC.

Jamie was born in Oshawa, Ontario.

He had a kind heart and loved animals. Although not close with his children, he loved them whole heartedly and spoke about them often. 

Jamie, in the end, succumbed to a 20+ year battle with addiction and his demons have finally been put to rest. 

Jamie will be sadly missed by his daughter Genevieve Greer and his son Jesse Greer. His mother Shirley, sister Heather (Brian) and brother Nathan (Denise). As well as nephew Brandon and nieces Jara and Jana, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was predeceased by his wife Bertina and their unborn child, his father Kevin, sister Michelle and grandmother Florence LeBlanc.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Catherine (RN) and his very close friend Tracy Edwards. Your support for Jamie will always be remembered and appreciated.

Arrangements have been entrusted to A H Brown Funeral Service, 5 McFarlane St., Springhill, NS (902-597-2361) where visitation will take place on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 from 1 pm until 2 pm, followed immediately at 2 pm by his funeral service, Major Max Snow officiating.  In keeping with COVID restrictions, please email [email protected] to Pre-Register. Masks are mandatory.  Proof of Double Vaccination and a government ID is also required. 

Donations in memory of Jamie may be made to Centre for Addiction and Mental Health.
