It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of John Robert "Bob" Quinn, age 72, of Springhill, NS, after a brief battle with ALS.  Bob passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at the All Saints Hospital, Springhill.

Born in Springhill he was the son of the late John and Dela (Reid) Quinn.

Bob was known as a jack of all trades.  There wasn’t much he wasn’t capable of.  He was always up to the challenge of learning something new, never stopping until he dominated it.

Bob had a huge heart, and was a friend to everyone he met, always going out of his way to help anyone in need, whether it be showing someone how to cut that perfect angle or offering general life advice.

He was a Volunteer Firefighter with the Springhill fire department, which he loved and dedicated himself to.  He was also a member of the Springhill Legion Branch #17.

In his early years he enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycles, darts, softball, his tug of war team "bobbies beauties".  Always one to be whistling everywhere he went, he was usually heard before being seen.

Before retirement he worked for Cobequid Housing Authority for many years.

The last surviving member of his immediate family he will be sadly missed by his wife of over 50 years Jean (Roblee) Quinn; daughters Carla (Rob) and Crystal; his best friend Max; grandchildren Caitlin (Cody) Ryan and Travis as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his twin sister Barb; brothers Alfie and Leo.

Bob's family would like to thank all the Doctors, Nurses and staff on the medical floor at CRHCC, and the Physiotherapy/Restorative Care nurses on the 2nd floor of All Saints Hospital.  You are all amazing and thank you for getting us through this.  Your kindness, patience, guidance and show of caring was exceptional and will never be forgotten.  The ALS society of NS/NB, and everyone who visited, sent cards and gifts to him while in hospital.

A special thank you goes out to Kenny Matthews known as his brother from another mother, you never left Dads side through all of this and we love you.  To the Springhill Fire Department for your kindness and support, Perry, Josh/Alexis, Ed, Marney, Robin, Jim for all your help with our late night calls for help, lawn care, taking care of Max, and general kindness.

Arrangements have been entrusted to A H Brown Funeral Service, 5 McFarlane St., Springhill, NS (902-597-2361). A Graveside Committal Service will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 4:00 pm in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill, with Captains Stephen and Rosalyn Toynton officiating. Reception to follow at the Springhill Fire Hall. All are welcome to attend.
