It is with broken hearts that we, the family of the late Karen MacPhee, 74, of Springhill, NS, announce the passing of our beloved mother, peacefully on November 26, 2021 at All Saints Hospital, Springhill, NS.

Born in Springhill, NS, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Genevieve (Brundage) McLellan.

Mom's strength and courage was amazing during her brief battle with her illness and her final days were spent filled with love and support from her family and friends.

She graduated from Saint Charles Commercial School in Amherst, NS, and worked for a short time at National Specialty in Amherst before deciding to stay home and raise her family.  She was a forty plus year member of the Springhill T.O.P.S. group and held the position of their weight recorder for many years.  She enjoyed summers at her cottage in Economy, NS, where she loved attending weekly Bingo with her best friend, Wanda.  She was always eager to find a great bargain at a yard sale and she loved bass fishing with her late husband Don and the numerous friends that they made through the years in Economy.

Left to mourn her passing with loving memories are her daughter, Sherry (Paul) Hardie, Williamsdale, NS, her son, Brian (Joy) MacPhee, Amherst, NS, and her sister, Sandra Trueman, Truemanville, NS.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased in 2014 by her beloved husband, Donald; a brother, Larry in infancy; brothers in law, Ralph Trueman, Frank MacPhee, and William MacPhee, as well as her sisters in law, Beverly Ryan and Brenda MacPhee.

The family extends a sincere thank you to the staff of the Neurology Department of the Halifax Infirmary, the staff of the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre and Dr. Gale and the nurses of the 2nd floor of All Saints Hospital Springhill for their compassion, kindness and exceptional care during Mom's illness.  In lieu of flowers, a donation in her memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of A H Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361).  A private familiy graveside service will be held at the Rodney Cemetery at a later date.

If so desired donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Sharing of memories may be made by visiting Karen's online memorial at www.brownsfuneralhome.com or through the A.H. Brown Funeral Home Facebook Page.
