It is with profound sadness that we
announce the sudden passing of John Clifford
King, 74, of Springhill, NS, at his home on Friday,
July 23, 2021. John was born in Springhill, a son of the
late Earl and Dorothy (Hartley) King.
John was a proud member of the Royal
Canadian Air Force before it became the Canadian Armed
Forces. Following that, he enjoyed a career as a Corrections
Officer with Corrections Canada, first in Dorchester, NB, then in
Springhill. John went on to be a Commissionaire before
retiring.
John enjoyed a good conversation with
anyone. John liked to work in his yard and was an avid
sports fan, in particular he enjoyed watching the Montreal
Canadiens. John was a great lover of animals of all
kinds. In his spare time, John loved spending time with his
family and in particular his grandchildren who will miss him
dearly
John will be sadly missed by his wife,
Patty (nee Rector), Springhill, with whom he very recently celebrated
52 years of blissful marriage; his sons, Jonathan (Kyle), Halifax,
Christian (Sarah), Charlottetown; his grandchildren, Emma, Landan, and
Griffin, Charlottetown; his brothers, Earle (Susan), Stephen (Karen),
Richard (Patty), Andrew (Kimberly), Scott, Skyler; his sisters,
Charlotte Anne, and Carolyn, as well as many nieces and
nephews.
Besides his parents, John was
predeceased by his granddaughter, Gracie.
Arrangements are under the care and
guidance of A.H. Brown Funeral Home, 5
McFarlane Street, Springhill, NS (902-597-2361) from where a time of
visitation will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2021 from 12:30 pm until
the time of the funeral at 2 pm. Ruth Gamble DLM
presiding. Interment to take place at a later date.
Preregistration for the funeral service
is required and space is limited. Please call or email the
funeral home to reserve a seat. For those unable to attend,
the funeral service will be streamed live through the funeral home
website and available for viewing after.
Donations in memory of John may be made
to the Canadian Cancer Society.
