It is with deep sorrow that the family of Timothy Harold Spence, age 63, announce his passing after a brief battle with Pancreatitis, on May 9th, 2021 at home.

Born in Springhill, NS, he was the son of the late Percy and Margaret (Davies) Spence.

Tim was born and raised in Springhill and was a graduate of the vocational school as an electrician. Upon graduation, he decided to change course and started a career in corrections with Corrections Services Canada. He spent the first part of his career at Dorchester Penitentiary before ending his career at the Springhill Penitentiary. One night, during a visit to All Saints Hospital in Springhill, Tim met a nurse, Bridget "B" Crosby and it was love at first sight. B and Tim were married on July 4th, 1981 and had two boys Christopher and Daniel. Tim always loved holding hands with B, lounging in their pool, giving out hugs, and spending time with his granddaughters.

Tim was a proud, caring, and generous man, always looking to lend a hand when possible, and loved his family so much.

Tim will be missed by his sons Chris and Dan (Manon) of Springhill; granddaughters Ceilidh and Elowen of Springhill; brother Gerald "Jerry" (Cathy) Spence of Collingwood, NS, brother-in-law Andy Crosby (Mel) of Halifax, NS; sister-in-law Shirley Fogarty (Jim) of Dominion, NS; brother-in-law Raymond Crosby (Gary) of London, ON; brother-in-law Paul Crosby (Carole) of Dominion, NS; brother-in-law Adam Crosby (Theresa) of Gardiner Mines, NS; cousin (who was like a brother) Bruce Megeney of Sackville, NB well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Aside from his parents, Tim was predeceased by his wife B, mother and father-in-law Graham and Margaret Crosby, sister-in-law Peggy and brother Elwood, in infancy.

Arrangements have been entrusted to AH Brown’s Funeral Service, Springhill, NS (902-597-2361). Cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held at a later date.

If so desired, donations can be made in honour of Tim to West End Memorial School or Junction Road Elementary School to help fund enhancements of his granddaughters’ future school, the new Springhill Elementary School.

Sharing of memories and condolences may be sent to the family by visiting Tim's online memorial at www.brownsfuneralhome.com or through the A.H. Brown Funeral Home Facebook Page.
