Curtis Ray McCormick, age 21, of Springhill, passed away at home surrounded by his family on April 5, 2021 after an 18 month battle with synovial sarcoma cancer. Curtis was born in Newmarket, ON on March 9, 2000. He is survived by his parents Craig and Linda (Hayhoe) McCormick, brother Connor, paternal grandfather Garry McCormick, maternal step grandmother Ann Hayhoe, special aunt Cindy Hayhoe (Ontario) along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Curtis loved the LORD and his faith sustained him and his family throughout his cancer battle. Over the years he volunteered as a leader in various children's programs at church and he was enrolled in the carpentry program at NSCC. Curtis liked learning about history and also taught himself to play the guitar. Curtis enjoyed motorcycling and last summer organized two trips around the Cabot Trail with friends.

Our family has been overwhelmed with the outpouring of love from our friends, church families and the community. We are so grateful for your thoughtfulness and generousity.

Having come to understand the various challenges that families face during a health crisis we encourage, in lieu of flowers, those who wish to make a donation to consider Ronald McDonald House, CanSaRCC (Canadian sarcoma research), or to a charity of your choosing. Donations can be given through the funeral home.

Arrangements have been entrusted to A H Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill (902 597 2361). A private service will be held at a future date.

Sharing of memories and condolences may be sent to the family by visiting Curtis' online memorial at or through the A H Brown Funeral Home Facebook Page.
