It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Glenda Faye (Nee Tabor) Shears, 78, on January 16, 2021 at All Saints Hospital, Springhill, with her loving family by her side, after a short battle with Cancer.

Glenda was born in Springhill, she was the daughter of the late Raymond "Tommie" and Ruth (McManaman) Tabor.

After high school Glenda moved on to Dartmouth where she furthered her education at the Halifax Vocational School. After school she went on to work for the Royal Bank of Canada, and M&D Transport in Dartmouth. Upon returning to Springhill with her family she worked for John Filliter Law Firm, the Elm Street Medical Clinic, Dr Gintowt, as well as Dr. Begin.

Glenda was a volunteer for Springhill Recreation Commission, and a treasurer for the Springhill Minor Hockey Association. Upon retiring Glenda took pleasure in spending time with family and the odd trip to Maine for a little shopping.

Glenda is survived by her loving husband of 59 years Howard, daughter Lisa (Terry) Bullen, Dartmouth, sons Thomas (Joy), Oxford, and Jason (Debbie) Lower Sackville; grandchildren; Matthew (Sasha), Lindsay, Patrick, Katrina, Lauren, and Isabelle; great grandchildren; John, Zackery, and Lainey. Glenda is also survived by sisters Valarie (John) Alderson, Susan (James) Kingan both of Springhill, as well as several nieces and nephews, and special niece Melissa.

Besides her parents Glenda was predeceased by her brother Gary, and great grand daughter Teagan in infancy.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of A H Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361). Keeping with her wishes there will be no funeral services, and cremation has taken place. There will be a family Graveside Service at the North Street Cemetery in the Spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

The family wishes to thank staff of the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, and doctors and nurses on the second floor at the All Saints Springhill Hospital, for their kind and compassionate care.
