It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Betty Lou Hyatt, 77, of Amherst and formerly of Springhill, NS, on Friday, October 2, 2020. Betty passed away with her loving family at her side at the North Cumberland Memorial Hospital in Pugwash.  Born in Springhill, Betty was a daughter of the late Harry and Tressa (Harrison) Terris.

Betty was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  Her family was of utmost importance to her. She enjoyed caring for her family and looked forward to each and every opportunity to get together with them.  Betty also took great pride in her ability to maintain a clean and orderly household.

Betty will be dearly missed by her husband of 57 years, David Hyatt, of Amherst; her daughter, Ann Marie (Brian) Field, Port Howe, NS; her son, David (Rhonda), Springhill; her grandchildren, Grace (Brett), Beth, Sarah, Kennedy and Brody; her great grandchildren, Nigel, Olivia, Joel, Julia, and Avah; her brother-in-law, Bryne 'Spic' (Barb) MacIntyre, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Betty was predeceased by a grandson Jordan; three sisters, Laura, Lois, and Glenda, as well as two brothers, Don and Arnold.

Arrangements are under the care and supervision of A.H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill (902-597-2361).  A graveside service will be held at the Hillside Cemetery, Springhill, NS, at 2 pm on Tuesday, October 6, 2020.  All are welcome to attend.  Pastor Scott Balser presiding.  Please bring your masks and respect social distancing guidelines.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff of the North Cumberland Memorial Hospital, the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, and High Crest Nursing Home for their wonderful compassion and care.
