It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Teddy Leigh Merrey, 51, at the Halifax Infirmary on Friday, August 7, 2020.  Teddy was born in Springhill on November, 29, 1968, the son of the late Brenda (McMaster) Pepperdine and step-son of the late Kenneth Pepperdine.

Teddy had worked for Oxford Frozen Foods for over 30 years.  He was a lover of the outdoors and his garden.  He loved and will be missed by his three fur-babies, Cuddles, Luke, and Keeper Good Boy, who were all very special to him.  Teddy enjoyed the simple pleasures in life; his personal piece of heaven was at the pier in Parrsboro where he could watch the tide come and go while enjoying the sun on his face and a gentle breeze.  He had a dry sense of humour and loved the occasional prank and teasing as many can attest.

One never had to ask Teddy for help; he had a knack for knowing when someone was in need and would give them a helping hand without requiring or expecting any recognition.

Teddy was a wonderful and devoted father who adored his children.

Teddy will be dearly missed and never forgotten by the love of his life, his soul-mate, and best friend, Mary Lynn Hurley; two daughters, Breonna and Reganne Merrey; his son, Callan Merrey; his step-son, Bradley Hurley; a grandson, Xavier Merrey; a step-granddaughter, Tessa Grace Hurley; a very special great-niece, Neela MacAloney; his special Aunt Vicky Dulong; his Uncle Glennie McMaster, as well as a very special cousin, Sophie-Elise Dulong.

Besides his parents, Teddy was predeceased by his grandfather, Edgar "Tettie" McMaster, with whom he shared a very special relationship.

Arrangements are under the care and guidance of A.H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill (902-597-2361).  Honouring Teddy's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will take place at a later date.

Donations in memory of Teddy may be made to Canadian Liver Foundation or the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation.

Sharing of memories and condolences may be sent to the family by visiting Teddy's online memorial at www.brownsfuneralhome.com or through the A.H. Brown Funeral Home Facebook Page.
