Ruth Margaret Leadbetter passed away August 2, 2020 in High Crest Nursing Home, Springhill at the age of 99. She was the daughter of the late James and Elsie (Carter) Leadbetter.

Ruth was predeceased by her brother Claude (Dorothy) and is survived by her two nephews, James (Bev) and Hugh (Donna) Leadbetter. 

Ruth was a proud life-long resident of Springhill. She was an adherent of the United Church where she taught Sunday School and CGIT. Other contributions to her town included being a founding member of the Springhill Heritage Group and member of the Hospital Auxiliary as well as working in its gift shop. Badminton was a passion of hers into her 80’s.  She will be remembered for her great sense of humour, her quiet determination and her affection for children.  

Arrangements have been entrusted to A H Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane St., Springhill, NS (905-597-2361) where visitation will be 1 to 2 PM, August 5, 2020, followed immediately at 2 pm by her funeral service.  Burial will follow in the Hillside Cemetery, Springhill.  In keeping with COVID-19 restrictions, masks will be mandatory.
