Born in Springhill, Novie was the daughter of the late Percy and Kathleen (Moore) Wood.

Novie was deeply devoted to her entire family.  She looked forward to family gatherings, picnics at the beach each summer and countless barbecues with everyone she loved.  She celebrated and enjoyed each and every birthday and holiday when they could all be together.

Novie will be dearly missed by, three children, Michael (Susan) Spence, Springhill, Susan (Daniel) Mattix, Collingwood, and Virginia (John) Burke, Amherst; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; two brothers, Dale (Esther) Wood, Springhill and Morley (Anne) Wood, Springhill; sons-in-law, Paul Sampson and Robert Morton, as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and cousins.

Besides her parents, Novie was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Ernie Spence; her daughters, Sherry Lynn (Spence) Sampson and Nancy Kathleen (Spence) Morton, as well as four brothers, Dennis, Wayne, Aubrey, and Norman.

Arrangements are under the care and supervision of A.H.
