It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Alta Janetta (Harrison) Fear, age 91, of Springhill, formerly of Dartmouth.  Alta passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Highcrest Nursing Home, Springhill.

Born in Springhill, NS, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Hattie (Embree) Harrison.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Dartmouth, NS.  Alta graduated from Saint Charles Commercial school in Amherst, and went on to Toronto where she worked for the Ontario Health Department.  After retiring, she returned to Nova Scotia, and had a brief second career with Willet Fruit.

She is survived by son, John Fear of Pugwash, NS;  brothers, James of Sudbury, Ont., Carman of Havelock, Ont;  3 grandchildren; 3 great grandsons; 2 great granddaughters; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by daughter, Heather Angela Roach; brothers; LeRoy and Emmerson; sisters, Agnes, Norma and Vera.

Arrangements have been entrusted to A H Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane St., Springhill, NS (902-597-2361) where visitation will take place on Monday from 1 until 2 pm, followed immediately by the funeral service at 2 pm.  Burial will take place in the Hillside Cemetery, followed by a reception at the funeral home.

In keeping with Alta's spirit of giving, donations in her memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
