John Edward Burton, age 85, of Victoria Manor, Amherst, formerly of Springhill, passed away peacefully at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on Saturday, February 7, 2015.

Born in Springhill, NS, he was a son of the late Herbert and Georgina (Devine) Burton.

He was a member of The St. Johns Roman Catholic Church, Springhill.

He will be sadly missed by brothers, Donald, Springhill, Herbert, Ontario, Patrick, Saint John, NB; sisters, Eileen (Cyril) Henwood, Amherst, Evelyn Pyke, Springhill, Leona Aviol of Guelph.

He was predeceased by sisters Shirley, Betty Adams, Joyce Burton and Margaret Cox; brothers Clayton and Dennis.

Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to A. H. Brown Funeral Service, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361) from where Funeral Prayers will be offered on Monday, February 9, 2015 at 10:30 am, Father Phil Thibodeau officiating.  Burial in North Street, Roman Catholic Cemetery, North Street, Springhill.
