The death of Ada Mae Johns, 81,
of Springhill, occurred suddenly at the Cumberland Regional Health
Care Centre on Thursday, September 4, 2014. Born in Glasgow
Mountain, NS, Ada was a daughter of the late Harry and Verna (Wetton)
Canning.
Ada enjoyed knitting,
sewing, embroidery and reading. She knitted baby items for
the Hospital Auxiliary for many years. She was an avid
quilter and looked forward to starting again soon. She loved
spending time with her many friends and family.
She is survived by her sons, Lyall (Patti) Johns of Okotoks, AB
and James (Eva) Johns of Amherst; several grandchildren and great
grandchildren; a sister, Margaret (William) Seymour of Ontario, and
several nieces and nephews.
Besides her
parents, Ada was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Johns; a
sister and a brother.
Arrangements are under
the care and supervision of A.H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane
Street, Springhill (902-597-2361) from where a time of visitation will
be held from 6-8 pm on Monday, September 8, 2014. A funeral
service will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday at 2 pm with
interment to follow in the Hillside Cemetery. Captain Chad
Ingram officiating.
