M.L. Eileen Bowden of Diligent River passed away peacefully
on August 21, 2014, at the age of 86 surrounded by her family at the
Amherst Hospital.
Eileen was born in 1927 in
Afton, Antigonish to Reginald and Laura (Taylor) Dow.
Eileen loved road trips, especially to Prince Edward
Island and Yellowknife, tending to her plants, knitting, crossword
puzzles, playing cribbage, and being in the midst of her family
sharing love and laughter.
Eileen is survived
by her children Elaine (David) Baker, Larry (Irene) Bowden, Eric
(Kathy) Bowden, Alton Bowden, Sandra Bowden, Troy (Margaret-Ann)
Bowden; grandchildren Krista and Craig Dowell; Angela and Larry
Bowden; Darrick and Joseph Bowden and Kerry Delorey; Meghan and Jordan
Bowden; great-grandchildren Daylen, Padraig, Nolan and Keira, and
several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased
by her husband Glendon T. Bowden (2013), and son-in-law Norman
Keenainak (2013).
Eileen was the last surviving
member of her family of origin.
Arrangements have been entrusted to A H Brown Funeral Home in
Springhill, Nova Scotia. A private family burial will take
place at the Parrsboro United Baptist Church Cemetery.
