Edward "Ted" Beman, age 77 of Springhill passed
away peacefully on Friday, April 4, 2014 at the Highcrest Nursing
Home, Springhill. Born in Saint John, NB, he was a son of the late
Jenny (Appleby) and William Beman.
In
earlier years, Ted served with Unit-1 LAA Regiment of the Royal
Canadian Army. He was an active member of AA for 32 years. He was
known as a kind and generous person who was always willing to help a
friend in need. Ted enjoyed working with his hands, he loved carpentry
and fixing things. Family was very important to Ted, he was a devoted
and loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, brother
and friend.
Ted will be deeply missed by his
wife, Marny Beman; two daughters, Ruth Ann (Stephen) Graham of
Missisauga, ON, Cindy (Richard Graham) Beman of Toronto, ON; step
daughters, Tracy (Robert) Ganong and Marny Alberts; seven
grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brothers, Robert (Alma) and
Richard (Geraldine) both of St. John, NB; sisters, Bette (Reid)
Campbell of Moncton, NB and Dianna (Hugh) Cameron of Antigonish;
special daughter-in-law, Sue Beman and sister-in-law Phyllis Buckley;
as well as several nieces and nephews.
In
addition to his parents, Ted was predeceased by his first wife,
Gladys; son, Edward William; step son, Johnny Alberts; brothers,
Martin and James and sisters, Lillian, and Margaret.
Arrangements have been entrusted to AH Brown Funeral Home, 5
McFarlane Street, Springhill (597-2361). Family and friends are
invited to a funeral service on Monday, April 7, 2014 at 2 pm, from
the funeral home, Rev. Tori Byrne officiating. Burial will take place
in Toronto at a later date. Those wishing to make a donation in memory
of Ted may do so to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Society of Nova
Scotia.
