It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Marion Audrey (Moore) Pyke, age 76 on Thursday, June 13, 2013, with her loving family at her side at the All Saints Springhill Hospital.

A lifelong resident of Springhill, she was the daughter of the late Michael MacPherson Moore and Ivy Willa (Brown) Moore; and wife of her husband of 50 years, the late John (Jack) Pyke. She dedicated her life to family, and will be greatly missed by her son, Dennis of Lower Sackville; daughter, Audrey (Bevan) Dickson of Amherst; sons, Gerald (Brenda) of New Minas, and Keith (Crystal) of Coldbrook. Grandchildren; Christopher Lower Sackville; Ryan (Kristie), Beaverbank; Thomas (Angelina), Amherst; Jenny (Forrest), Charlottetown, PEI; Jason (Ashley), Kentville; Bradley (Samantha), Wolfville; Nicole (Josh), Red Deer, Alta; Brandon and Laura, Coldbrook. Great Grandchildren; Avah-Lynne and Alexzander, Beaverbank; Lucas and Nevaeha, Kentville. Also sharing in her family’s loss are sister, Shirley (Bill) Maddison, Port Alberni, B.C.; brother-in-law, David (Janice) Pyke, Brookdale; special sister-in-law, Barbara Moore, Springhill and niece Paulette Welch, St. Dorothea, Que.; nephews, Andrew Moore, Springhill, Michael Maddison, Port Alberni, B.C., Stephen Tower, Dorion, Que., John and Colton Pyke, Brookdale.

Marion was never happier than when sharing time with her family, especially the many large gatherings at home, the beach and for many years a tradition of a family reunion on July 1st at Shubenacadie Wildlife Park. She always enthusiastically responded when asked to play a game of cards or one of many board games with friends or with one of her grandchildren. More recently she enjoyed playing on the local bowling league, activities with the Springhill Seniors Organization and the weekly Friday afternoon card club, as well as many special outings with her very good friends, Ethel Gilbert, Helen Thompson and Helen Sweeney. Marion was a member of St. Andrew’s-Wesley United Church, Springhill.

A person of high principles, deep faith, and an overcoming spirit, Marion was often referred to as "dear sweet Marion" by her many acquaintances, and will long be remembered for her ready laugh and sunshine smile.

Our family would like to convey a special thank you to all who gave care to our mother during her brief illness.

Arrangements have been entrusted to A H Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill (902 597 2361). Family and friends are invited to visit at the funeral home on Sunday, June 16, 2013 from 1-3 pm. A memorial service will immediately follow at 3 pm, Rev.
