William Percy Chapman, 87 years, of Springhill, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 in the All Saints Hospital, Springhill.

Born in Springhill, NS, he was a son of the late Earl and Helena (Halliday) Chapman.

During his earlier years he worked for the Cobequid Lumber Company in Oxford, NS.  Bill worked for a total of 24 years for the Town of Springhill.  

He loved trapping and fishing in his youngest years.  Hunting and four wheeling was his most desired hobby throughout his life. He had many hunting stories to tell everyone and we all loved listening to them.  His favorite spot to hunt was Wyndham Hill, Springhill.

Throughout his life time he loved being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

William will be greatly missed by all his loving family and friends, including his wife Agnes Mary Chapman (Allen), Moncton; brother Ralph (Grace), Oxford; sisters Shirley Rector, Amherst and Isabelle Lovely, Springhill; children Helena Chapman, Sydney Mines, Cape Breton, Fidell (Pat), Airdrie, AB, Fred (Angela), Billy, John and Jeff, all of Springhill; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by three great grandchildren and sister Annie Porter.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the A. H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane St., Springhill, NS (902-597-2361) where visiting hours will take place on Saturday from 7 to 9 pm.  Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at 2 pm, Major Max Snow officiating.  Cremation will follow the funeral service and the ashes will be interred in the Hillside Cemetery, Springhill.
