With sad hearts, we mourn the passing of beloved mother,
grandmother and caring friend. Bernice Colleen King (nee
Moore), aged 86, passed away surrounded by her loving family on
February 13, 2013 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. Bernie
was born in Salt Springs, NS in 1926. She was the youngest child of
Edgar and Ethel Lamont (Pequignot) Moore.
She
lived her entire life in Springhill. She loved her family
and also enjoyed bingo and music, and was a proud fan of her musical
children and grandchildren. She was a helpful friend to all
who knew her.
Bernie is survived by sons Floyd
(Laurie), Dartmouth NS; Lemont (Cathy) and William, both of
Springhill; Alan, Amherst; nine grandchildren, thirteen
great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Bernie was predeceased by her husband, Harold L. King.
The last surviving sibling of her family of 12, she was predeceased by
brothers Harold, Roy, Leonard, Gordon; sisters Alberta (Cook),
Violetta (Moore), Rose (Sears), Elizabeth (Smith), Kathleen (Wood),
Adelle (Ibbitson), Doris (Smith).
Funeral
arrangements are under the care and direction of A H. Brown Funeral
Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361), where visitation
will be held Friday, February 15, 2013 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 16, 2013
from the funeral home with The Reverend Wayne McCarther
officiating. Burial will take place in Hillside Cemetery,
Springhill, at a later date.
Those who would
