Joan Marion Blue
1930-2012
Joan Marion Blue age 82 of Springhill, passed away
Wednesday, September 12, 2012 in the Cumberland Regional Health Care
Centre after a brief illness. Joan was born in Springhill,
on July 8, 1930 to the late Douglas Edward and Marion Louise (O'Brien)
Blue.
For many years, she lived in Amherst and
Halifax, returning to Springhill in 2008 to help care for her ill
sister. Joan retired from a successful teaching career and
held adult education teaching positions in both Amherst and Halifax.
Her passions included traveling, and family. Over
the years she traveled extensively around the globe with her many
friends.
Joan is survived by her nephew, Brian
(Grace) MacLeod; great nieces, Aleasha Porter, Alisha (Bob) Clarke,
and Megan MacLeod; great nephew Trevor MacLeod; special great great
nephew, Parker MacLeod and friend, Max.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister,
Beverly MacLeod, and nephew Frank MacLeod.
Arrangements are
under the care and supervision of A. H. Brown Funeral Home, 5
McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902-597-2361). At Joan's
request, there will be no visitation. A private family
graveside committal service will be held at a later
date.
