Keith Lewis MacLeod, age 73 of Valley Road, Springhill,
passed away on January 17, at the Victoria General Hospital in the
presence of his family after a brief illness. Born March 28,
1938, he was the son of Hilson and Hattie (Lewis)
MacLeod.
Keith spent a career working for Correctional
Services of Canada, retiring in 1991. Following retirement,
Keith kept active golfing, downhill skiing, hunting, fishing, and
attending horse races; however, his greatest joy was the time spent
with his grandchildren and watching them grow and become productive
citizens.
Keith is survived by his wife of 51
years, Irva (Gilliss); sons, Gregory (Suzette), Springhill, Scott,
Amherst; a daughter, Heather MacEachern (Michael), Truro; six
grandchildren, Colleen and Jeremy MacLeod, Candace and Julie MacLeod,
Craig and Haley MacEachern; one great granddaughter, Jemma Kate; two
step grandchildren, Sonya and Nick MacDonald; and a former daughter in
law and special friend, Mary McDade MacLeod.
Besides his parents, Keith was predeceased by a beloved
granddaughter, Katie Elizabeth MacLeod, and a half brother, James
Cooper.
Cremation has taken place under the
care and direction of A. H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street,
Springhill (597-2361). There will be no visitation or
funeral. A family burial will be held at a later
date. Those wishing to make donations may do so to a charity
