The death of Cecil Warren "Murt" Venus, occurred suddenly on Monday, January 9, 2012.  Born in Springhill, Cecil was a son of the late Ewart and Frances (Falconer) Venus.

Murt had worked in Ontario for over thirty years, then retired back home to Nova Scotia. Very family oriented, he was a beloved father and grandfather.
 
He will be sadly missed by his three daughters, Susan (Randy) Norlock, of Puyallup, WA, Vicki (Bruce) Taylor, of Peterview, NL, Charlene Snow, of Amherst; nine grandchildren, Shaun, Danielle, Mitchel, Jason, Justin, Ashley, Krista, Billy, and Jessica; six great grandchildren, Conner, Carson, Caiden, Christopher, Austin, and Noah; one brother, four sisters, and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by, two brothers.

Arrangements have been made under the care and supervision of A H Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill (902-597-2361) from where visitation will be held 7-9 pm, Thursday, January 12, 2012 and Friday, January 13 from 1 pm until the time of the funeral service at 2 pm.  Burial will be held at a later date in the Hillside Cemetery.

As per the request of the family, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart And Stroke Foundation.
