Evelyn Eileen Canning, 94, of Springhill, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at Willow Lodge, Tatamagouche.

Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late James and Florence Pettigrew.

She will be sadly missed by her daughter Florence Evelyn (John) Backa, Springhill, NS; eight grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and one great great grandson.

She was predeceased by her husband Donald Canning; son Fredric; grandson Troy; great grandson Adam; brothers Lloyd, Arthur and George; sisters, Ivy Bird, Viola Rector, Ethel Jewkes, and Hazel Lusignan.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of A. H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill (902 597 2361).  As per Evelyn's request there will be no services.  Burial in West Brook Cemetery.
