It is with deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of Shane Robert Porter, age 63, of Springhill, NS.  Shane passed away with family by his side on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at the All Saints Hospital, Springhill.

Born in Springhill, NS, he was a son of the late Ralph and Norma (Maine) Porter.

Shane was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather.  He loved to be around people, and had the gift to gab.  He loved Springhill, and would do anything to support it, serving as Town Counselor for many years.  He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, around animals, and fishing at Hart lake. 

Shane will be dearly missed by his wife Teresa, and their son Matthew, both of Springhill, NS; daughter Trina (Stephen) Bragg, Oxford, NS; grandchildren Chantaya and Maddison; sisters, Linda (Roger) Terrio, Amherst, Valerie (Bruce) Cottonden, Dartmouth, Carol Ann Estabrooks, Calgary, AB, Sandra (Terry) Clarke, Dartmouth, Cheryl (Alyre) Gaudet, Riverview;  several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother Terry (Patti).

Arrangements have been entrusted to A H Brown Funeral Home, Springhill, NS, 5 McFarlane St., Springhill, NS (902-597-2361) where visiting hours will take place on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm.  Shane's funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at 2 pm, Pastor Jonathan Cole officiating.  Burial will follow in the Hillside Cemetery, Springhill.
