It is with great sadness that we
announce the passing of John Glyn Elliott
on July 1, 2019, age 67, of Calgary, formerly of
Amherst.
Born in Amherst, NS, he was the son of
the late Diana and Wendell Elliott.
John attended Vocational School in
Springhill and received his degree in electronics. He moved to Ottawa after
finishing vocational school, where he worked with his dad at Elliott's
Esso. He then
moved to Toronto to attend Ryerson College where he studied
electronics.
Eventually moving to Calgary where he spent the rest of
his life working for the Alberta Food Centre where he worked there for
35 years. Everyone
loved John, he was hard working, loyal, trustworthy, fun to be around
and kind. He would
give the shirt off his back and never expect anything in
return. John
loved animals and through his life had many cats and dogs, his most
recent being Sammi the cat. He enjoyed tinkering around with
electronics.
John is survived by his brother Richard
(Marlene) Elliott of Port Howe, NS; half brothers, Mike Elliott, Ken
(Jennifer) Elliott both of Ottawa and half sister Wendy Elliott (Paul
Hicks) of Ottawa; also survived by step mother Ruth Elliott of Ottawa;
nieces Tricia Elliott, Halifax, Amy, Jessie, Olivia and Emma Elliott
of Ottawa; nephew Terry (Aneta) Elliott all of Calgary Alberta,
special friends Randy Larson and Debbie Gaye.
He was predeceased by his parents Diana
and Wendell Elliott.
Arrangements have been entrusted to
A H Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane St,
Springhill, NS (902-597-2361) where an Afternoon of Remembrance will
be held on Saturday, July 27, 2019 from 2 to 4 pm. Burial will take place in the
Hillside Cemetery, Springhill following the
gathering.
