It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Watson Henry, 94, of Upper Nappan, on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre.  Born in Georgetown, PE, John was a son of the late Thomas and Lillian (Publicover) Henry.

John was a Veteran of WWII, having served with the North Nova Scotia Highlanders.

He worked for over sixty years as a Stonemason/Bricklayer all throughout Nova Scotia.  He was deeply dedicated and passionate about his profession and passed on this skill to his two sons.

John enjoyed watching baseball and hockey and was an avid fan of the Toronto Blue Jays as well as the Amherst Ramblers.   He also enjoyed spending quality time with his family and extended family.

A devoted family man, John was a caring and loving husband, father, grandfather, great and great-great grandfather.

He will be sadly missed by his nine daughters Nancy (John) MacKenzie, Carol (Les) MacKay, Barb (Barry) Smith, Donna (Larry) Silvea, Brenda (Richard) Laurie, Roxanne (Scott) Lockhart, Heather (Donald) MacDonald, Lisa (Mike Gallagher) Henry, Sheri (Dr. Mark) Emery; two sons, Jimmy (Ruth) Henry and David (Cindy) Henry, as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.  He had several brothers and sisters.

Besides his parents John was predeceased by his wife of sixty years, Theresa Mary (nee Gallant) and a daughter in infancy Brenda Rose.

Arrangements are under the care of A.H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill (902-597-2361).  Honouring John's wishes, there is to be no visitation or services at this time.  A  private graveside service will be held at the Mapleton Cemetery at a later date.
