Dennis E. Walsh, 84 years of age, of Springhill, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 27, 2019, at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre surrounded by his family. Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late Henry and Florence (Casey) Walsh.

In His younger years, Dennis worked in the Springhill Coal Mines. Dennis served in the Canadian Military for 22 years. He worked out west in Fort McMurray for a number of years in fire rescue in the oil fields. After retiring and moving back home, Dennis worked at the Miners museum in Springhill for many years. He loved fishing and spending time at his camp. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.

Dennis will be sadly missed by his wife, Audrey, daughters, Judy Roth (Ted) of Fort McMurray, Diana Patterson (Darren) of Medicine Hat, Pauline Cooke (Wayne Hoeg) of Springhill, Jeannie Nyitrai-Hacz (Peter) of Oxford, Kelly MacDonald (Brad Robar) of Canning, sons, Larry Walsh of Calgary, Edward Matthews (Robin) of Amherst, Bill MacDonald (Jennifer Terhorst) of NB,several grandchildren, great grandchildren.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of A.H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane St., Springhill, NS (902-597-2361). The family will receive visitors on Thursday, May 30, 2019 from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. Burial will take place in the Hillside Cemetery, Springhill.
