Reid, Helen George Anne, age 83, of Springhill, NS, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2019 at Highcrest Nursing Home.

Born in Springhill, NS, she was a daughter of the late George and Marguerite (Noiles) Reid. 

George Anne lived and worked as a teacher in Springhill, taking an early retirement to stay at home.

George Anne is survived by her son David Melanson, Springhill; sister Margie Reid, Springhill; brother, Hugh (Theresa) Reid, Hatchet Lake and Nephew Robb Reid Currie, Springhill.

She was predeceased by her infant son Hugh; sister Rosemary Jo-ann Mullins; brothers John and Jim.

Arrangements are under the care and guidance of A.H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill (902-597-2361) where visiting hours will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 11 am until 1 pm, followed immediately at 1 pm by the Funeral Liturgy of the Word, Deacon Howard Gotell officiating.  Burial will be held in the North Street Cemetery in the spring.
