It is with sadness we announce the passing of Elizabeth "Betty" Henwood, age 85, of Springhill, NS.  Betty passed away on Monday, October 8, 2018 at Highcrest Nursing Home, Springhill, NS.

Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Hunter) Ryan.

Betty was a member of the Salvation Army Church in Springhill; she was a past member of the Springhill Royal Canadian Legion.  She enjoyed music, especially Elvis Presley, and loved to dance.  Betty never missed a family event;  she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and always put family first.

She will be dearly missed by her children Linda Fulton, Portaupique, NS, Helen (Edwin) Brine, Amherst, NS, Sharon Smith, Oxford, NS, Betty Lou McKee (William Ford), Oxford, NS, Ken (Monica Ferrigno), Glenville, NS; 8 grandchildren Donna, Raymond, Sabrina, Donald, Douglas, Khristopher, Brittany and Derrick; 13 great grandchildren; sister Kathleen "Kay" Ryan, Springhill, NS; brother Patrick (Dolores Francis) Ryan, Heather's Beach, NS. 

Predeceased by her husband Kenneth; infant son Kenny; sons in law Lee Fulton and Joe Smith; sisters Edna Kavalak, Bonnie Mattinson, and Helen "Pinky" Henwood, infant brothers Charles and Patrick.

Arrangements are under the care and guidance of A.H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill (902-597-2361) from where a time of visitation will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm.  A funeral service for Betty will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018 from A H Brown Funeral Home at 2 pm, Lieutenant Stephen Toynton and Lieutenant Rosalyn Toynton officiating.  Interment to follow in the Hillside Cemetery, Springhill.  

Donations in memory of Betty may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or the charity of your choice.
