It is with sadness we announce the passing of Frederick Roy "Freddie" Rushton, 54 years of Springhill,Freddie passed away peacefully with his loving family & close friends by his side. on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the Victoria General, Halifax. Born in Truro he was a son of Myrna (Trenchard) Rushton, Springhill and the late Ronald Rushton.

Freddie loved fishing and being outdoors. He worked for Purdy Resources for 18 years as a forklift drive. He enjoyed working on cars. He loved watching boxing and wrestling. He loved being with his grandchildren and spoiling them.Besides his mother, Myrna, he will be sadly missed by his children, Brandon Burbine and Jodey Burbine (Jason LeBlanc) both of Amherst; grandchildren, Keirstyn Burbine, Kenzi Burbine, Reece Burbine all of Amherst and Brooke Miller, Springhill; mother of his children and lifetime partner, Donna Burbine, Amherst; brothers, Robin (Kelly) Black, Amherst and Ivan (Melinda Moore), of Amherst,  David (Chantal), London, ON, Leslie, Roger, Byard (Sabrina), all of Springhill, several nieces and nephews.

Besides his father, he was predeceased his son, Christopher in infancy, by a brothers, Wayne in 2016 and Everett in 2017.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of A.H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane St., Springhill, NS (902-597-2361) where the family will receive visitors on Sunday, September 30, 2018 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.. A funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Marion Lloy to officiate. Burial to take place in Eagle Hill Cemetery, Westchester, NS.
