Maudina Bessie Wheeler, 98 years of age, of Springhill, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Gables Lodge, Amherst, NS. Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late Peter & Dorothy MacDonald (Young)

Maudina served in the Navy as an R.E.N. for several years. In the 70's she moved to Calgary and moved back to Springhill in 2007. She loved to shop and spoil her grandchildren. She was an excellant baker. Maudina enjoyed traveling, and made many trips across Canada.

Maudina will be sadly missed by her daughter, Dorothy Halvorsen and son in law Don McCartney of Springhill, six grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; special friends LeEllen & Ernie Klippinstine.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Alex Maillet, second Husband, John Wheeler; son, Dale Maillet; a grandson, Joshua Howe, seven brothers ands sisters.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of A.H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane St., Springhill, NS (902-597-2361). Visitation will take place at A.H. Brown Funeral Home on Wednesday July 18, 2018 from 1pm until 1:45 pm, followed immediately by a graveside service in the Hillside Cemetery, Springhill, Life Celebrant Scott Balser officiating. 

The family would like to thank the staff of Gables Lodge for their kindness and care for mom these past five years.
