It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of D. Glendon "Glennie"  Mattix, 78 years of age, of Springhill, on Friday, May 4, 2018 in the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Nappan, NS.  Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late William and Phyllis (Rushton) Mattix.

Glennie was well known in Springhill for participating in parades and wearing his  Leprechaun costume.He was a candy maker for the Springhill Candy Kitchen for many years. He loved his sunday drives and meeting up with his friends for a coffee and a chat at the Springhill liars bench.   

Glennie will be sadly missed by his wife Melody Mattix (nee Sullivan); daughters, Phyllis  Lomond (Darcy) of Moncton, NB,  Jenny Lohnes (Todd) of Port Williams, NS, brothers, Kenneth, Amherst and Darrell (Carol) of Oromocto, NB, thirteen grandchildren , seven great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a sister, Brenda; brothers, Ronald, Douglas, Ralph, Donald and Harold. 

Arrangements are under the care and direction of A H. Brown Funeral Home 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361), where visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.  A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 2 p.m. Burial to take place in the Hillside Cemetery, Springhill later in the spring.
