It is with profound sadness and a deep sense of loss that Bryne, along with her sisters Betty and Glenda, humbly inform family and friends that Lois Jeanne Terris has been called from her earthly life on Tuesday, April 17, 2018.

Lois was the daughter of the late Harry and Tressa (Harrison) Terris.

Those deeply affected by her passing are her partner in life's journey, Bryne MacIntyre, and her special niece Luanne Schekhtayan and her family Sonia, Lindsay, and Katie, and their children, Breanna, Alaya, Richie, A.J., T.J., Hailey, and Layla, all of Chicago; a nephew Harry Smith, of Chicago; sister, Betty (Dave) Hyatt, Amherst; niece, Ann Marie (Brian) Field, Port Howe, and their family,  Grace (Brett) and their children, Nigel, Joel and Julia; Beth (Damon), Sarah, a nephew, Davy (Rhonda) Hyatt, Springhill and their children, Kennedy and Brody; great nieces, Olivia and Avah; a sister, Glenda Farnell, Fredericton; nephews, Darrel and Derek and his family, Ira, Trisha, and Hally; another niece, Diane and her sons, Paul and Marc and nephew Donnie and his children Sabrina and Stephen; special friend and hairdresser, Heather Trenholm (Kennedy's mom), as well as brothers-in-law, and a sister-in-law and many nieces and nephews in the MacIntyre family

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Arnold, Leonard, and Don; her sister Laura; brothers-in-law, Frank Kostek and Donald Farnell; a great nephew, Jordan Hyatt, and nephew-in-law Nor; niece-in-law, Judy.

Lois quietly but passionately started life's journey in the banking field after graduation from high school.  Her next endeavours were St.FX University and on to Teacher's College.  Lois loved learning new things and spent the next phase of her life employed with the Department of Adult Education, teaching in Amherst and Stellarton.  Teaching in the adult division was most rewarding for her, she loved watching students succeed after they had endured many disappointments and hardships.

Lois dearly cherished the formation of lifelong friendships with people of all walks of life.  She spent countless hours talking, listening and helping sort things into perspective with these many, many friends.  Her doors and especially her caring heart were always open to any new or old challenge.

Lois regarded life as a precious gift from God and felt unworthy of His many blessings.  She touched the lives of many people through her gentle and generous nature.  She was a kind and caring soul, quiet in strength, rich in wisdom, subtle in wit.

Lois enjoyed her family, camping, and the comfort of her home, especially proud of her yard.  Later in life, hockey became her passion.  She enjoyed each young players contribution to each and every game.  Her family meant 110% to her and she especially enjoyed the happy occasions, but with a heavy heart endured the trying and sad times with each and every one of them.

The greatest gift of all is God's love, please show love and compassion for each other.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to A. H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361), where visitation will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.  A funeral service will be held from the Dr Carson & Marion Murray Community Centre on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at 2 pm with Life Celebrant, Scott Balser officiating.  Reception to follow at the A. H. Brown Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery, Springhill, in the spring.

I knew this place

But now it's just an empty space

As time went by, I've lost a lot

But please remember

Forget me not.
